Allen Watts label High Voltage Recordings is always a wealth of high quality Trance releases, and 2024 has been off to a strong start with some new names as well as the return of 0Gravity, who released "I See Right Through" in May 2023, and for vocalist Lyd14 this will be the first release on the label. Lyd14 is no stranger to the Church of Trance, as we're a big fan of her sound and contributions to Trance both professionally and being an amazing person to connect with personally.
We had a chance to connect with Lyd14 to undercover the magic behind this release, and learn about the working dynamics between creator / producers and song writers / lyricists.
What is the meaning behind the track title "Dark Desire"?
Dark Desire is a metaphorical journey into one's inner world, exploring hidden emotions and depths. The song reflects the challenges and uncertainties of relationships, where passion and connection endure despite obstacles. ”Dark Desire” encapsulates the complex and sometimes conflicting nature of human emotions.
What was the inspiration behind the lyrics in the track?
I wanted to draw upon the universal experiences of love, longing, and navigating the tumultuous seas of human emotion, providing a rich and evocative exploration of these themes. Sometimes it’s nice to leave a little riddle in the lyrics.
Working with 0Gravity on this track what moment sticks out from the creative process bringing it to life?
I usually like to receive a base to work with the vocals, so guys sent me an instrumental demo. I don't even start working on tracks that I don't think tell any story already without the vocal lines. But this track immediately ignited the imagination. I think we had a similar thoughts about the direction this track would develop. Everything just came together very well and easy. It is always nice to work with professionals.
