Church of Trance

One of the biggest lineups I've ever had the opportunity to experience in what will be my 10th Groove Cruise and 7th time performing as Trance Jesus launched last week and broke the internet! Groove Cruise has adopted several exciting brands to represent popular genres, with Abyss and Embark celebrating over a decade since their inception in 2011, Siren's Echo and Taking Back Emo seeing their brands being created during the pandemic, and Rising Tides being introduced on Miami 2023 It's exciting to compare last year's line to see there are 54 artists retrning from the #GCMIA24 with several of them moving to the main lineup (shoutout to our friend 22 Weeks along with talented ladies like my lovely wife Jen Blackburn , Brookie , and Kyliente ).  For #GCMIA25 we're seeing 48 new names on the lineup - such as the LONG sought and most requested Eric Prydz and the technical genius James Hype - and return artists who haven't graced the roster is several years, suc...

When the Passion for Trance calls, it takes me to ASOT Rotterdam !!! In 2001 I fell in love of Trance when I discover this sonority on a French CD compilation " Reference Techno", and since then I have not only become a Trance lover but also DJ. Fast forward to 2024 when I travel to the Netherlands from my home in France to find the Trance Family and our passion of this universe under one roof. Over a month ago, ASOT took place at Ahoy Rotterdam and what an amazing and powerful new edition in this new Destination. I t may surprise you but it's only my 2nd time at this event !!! My 1st ASOT was in 2023 to celebrating 1000 episodes and new start with Reflexion, and I had to return this year. For this edition, the city was decorated with flags, a big LED Cube a nd big flyers at Centraal Station for example and the result was  more than up to par!! Though my journey in Trance started almost 30 years ago, the passion to be behind the decks started by being a show goer after moving to Minneapolis in 2006 and having a true, as we call it, "music scene". Along with a budding music community bore so many amazing people that have become "framily" and within that subset, a community of talented individuals whom birthed the desire to own DJ equipment and, on top of that, become a master of the craft.  Along the way there were cherished souls encountered who made a life long impact, including a very precious one by the name of Daisy who would always be seen at shows, though living several hours away in Wisconsin. Howdy, my first post here, for those who don't know me, I've addicted to trance since the late 90's and been lucky to have been able to attend more festivals around the world in the more recent years:  Marc's Festivals Page  I had been told about Unkonscious several times, but never really looked into it because it was in the middle of my snowboarding season. Things lined up this year though so that I could go snowboarding in Japan and then "hop" towards Bangok. Bangkok is honestly quite far from SFO (and even worse if you're not on the west coast), so having a stop in Japan definitely helped. Still an event on my bucket list that originally was planning to attend in 2020 (for ASOT 1000) but then the world shut down and when the 2022 was announced,  What? A State of Trance 2024 will take place in Rotterdam Ahoy.   Where?  Ahoy weg 10, 3084 BA Rotterdam When?  A State of  Trance 2024 will take place on Friday 23 February and Saturday 24 February, with hours starting at 22.00 and will run until 6.00 each day!   This is the first time that A State of Trance festival is being held at Rotterdam Ahoy but it's not a new facility - having been around since 1971 its very well known among the 'biggest on earth' and should be able to hold many 10s of thousands of #trancefamily  Its really cool that the A State of Trance festival is really now being structured like their own "music conference" with extensive "value adds" to connect with the community during the day on Saturday, with Friday night being the opening party (which is only accessible t...
