[Release] Cold Blue brings true artistry with 'Mountain' [Black Hole Recordings]

It’s by design that  Cold Blue  has taken the longer road back to back to LP life. For a man with as much affinity for the current season as he, it’s significant that he refuses to work in regular album cycles. Indeed, ‘desire’ remains the only point on his production compass. As such, it’s been six rotations since the release of  'Winter'  — his debut longform, and one which set a new high-water mark in electronic music purity and definition. ‘Mountain’ , his sophomore work ( arriving Nov 14 ), is certainly a continuum of that, but also one that, over time, may prove to be his artistic zenith. It’s the product of a creator who places studio craft over song, atmospheres beyond clubfloor furore, … and patience - quite simply, above all other concerns. Now, that patience — both his and yours — is rewarded through the release of the extraordinary  ‘Mountain’ . If 2019’s ‘ Winter’  captured Cold Blue at his most expansive, then  ‘ Mountain ’ finds him in...

[Interview] Solarstone and Cold Blue at ASOT 2024 Festival

During the last weekend of February 2024, the yearly ASOT weekend festival took place, and this year it saw the return to it's former home, Ahoy in Rotterdam. This year the line-up once again spanned, in my view, many solid/strong names, as well as more unknown/new and upcoming names on the scene, and a great diversity within electronic music genres.  During the 2 days, I caught and attended a part or the entire sets of Miss Monique, Solarstone, Cold Blue, Anamé, Kyau & Albert, Cosmic Gate, John Askew and ReOrder . And they all delivered their best in my opinion and ears. The new location, Ahoy, was easy to find your way around inside, and I think, compared to Jaarbeurs, that the distances between the different areas/stages felt/was a bit shorter in Ahoy, which was a good thing, and there was also plenty of bars and food options to choose from. On Saturday of the event, I had the opportunity to sit down and interview both Solarstone and Cold Blue , you can find my int...

[Event] A State Of Trance Rotterdam - Review

When the Passion for Trance calls, it takes me to ASOT Rotterdam !!! In 2001 I fell in love of Trance when I discover this sonority on a French CD compilation " Reference Techno", and since then I have not only become a Trance lover but also DJ. Fast forward to 2024 when I travel to the Netherlands from my home in France to find the Trance Family and our passion of this universe under one roof. Over a month ago, ASOT took place at Ahoy Rotterdam and what an amazing and powerful new edition in this new Destination. I t may surprise you but it's only my 2nd time at this event !!! My 1st ASOT was in 2023 to celebrating 1000 episodes and new start with Reflexion, and I had to return this year. For this edition, the city was decorated with flags, a big LED Cube a nd big flyers at Centraal Station for example and the result was  more than up to par!! When arriving at the location, you can see the biggest blue sc reen saying "Welcome into your new destination - A State of T...
