Following our ASOT 2024 audio interviews with Solarstone and Cold Blue, is here a written interview session from ASOT 2024 with the one an only John Askew ! Enjoy! At the ASOT 2024 event we also got a chance to have a talk with the VII 'main' architect, respected and renowed DJ/producer, 'the boos' John Askew. Here's the interview with him, enjoy! Q: Hi John, first, thanks a lot for having the possibility to sit down here and have a talk with you. You recently played at ASOT in Rotterdam, how was it? A: It was epic. I really enjoyed it. The sound in there was amazing, which considering how vast the spaces are is quite an achievement. To get it so tight sounding…very impressed. Q: How are you, what have you been up to lately? A: I’m good thanks. I’ve been working hard on label stuff, management and work on my new album which is now finally finished after so many years.   During the last weekend of February 2024, the yearly ASOT weekend festival took place, and this year it saw the return to it's former home, Ahoy in Rotterdam. This year the line-up once again spanned, in my view, many solid/strong names, as well as more unknown/new and upcoming names on the scene, and a great diversity within electronic music genres.  During the 2 days, I caught and attended a part or the entire sets of Miss Monique, Solarstone, Cold Blue, Anamé, Kyau & Albert, Cosmic Gate, John Askew and ReOrder . And they all delivered their best in my opinion and ears. The new location, Ahoy, was easy to find your way around inside, and I think, compared to Jaarbeurs, that the distances between the different areas/stages felt/was a bit shorter in Ahoy, which was a good thing, and there was also plenty of bars and food options to choose from.
